Bitumen and petroleum are optimum at the one. Bashundhara cutback bitumen is a mixer ideal ratio of straight-run bitumen and solvent like, naphtha or kerosene depending on the project's specifications. Straight-run bitumen can be heated to lower its viscosity and made it more fluid-like for spray sealing a pavement. An alternative to heating is the addition of a solvent. When a solvent is added to the bitumen viscosity, is reduced temporarily. This blend is termed as 'cutback bitumen". Cutback bitumen may be made with different viscosities after the predetermined addition of flux oil.

APPLICATIONS

Bashundhara cutback bitumen (Rapid Curing Type and Medium Curing Type) is widely
used for –

  • PRIME COAT ON GRANULAR BASE COURSE (TYPE-I &II)
  • TACK COAT ON RIGID PAVEMENT

RECOMMENDATIONS

Storage and Handling of Bitumen Emulsion:

  • Packing type of Bashundhara bitumen emulsion is 25 kg
    plastic container. This emulsion filled jar must be kept airtight
    and stored in a dry, comparatively dark and shady room in an
    ambient temperature of 20-30 °C.

Recommendations for use

Storage and Handling of Cutback Bitumen:

  • Long term storage temperature: for both mC and RC ambient temperature and must ensure air tighten

It is a mixture of selective bitumen, water and emulsifying agent with-

  • Spraying Rate: 1.2 l/sqm
  • Spraying Temerature: For Mc-30 And Mc-70: 100-120 °c For Rc-30 And Rc-70: 120-130 °c
